Bob is a great guy, have shot him a bunch of times, and was super excited when he hired me to photograph the events leading up to his 40th birthday celebration at the sold-out, home of the Detroit Lions, Ford Field. The production that goes into a show like this is ridiculous, and I captured everything from stage build-out, production, sound check, birthday dinner, backstage, and of course the show… I was in his dressing room kickin’ it when Kevin Mazur walked in, and if you don’t know who Kevin is, he is the best live photographer to ever do it, started Wire Image, ect, and although I’ve worked with him before on the Eminem/Jay Z Home & Home tour, I knew my game had to be top notch. Kevin is a great guy, love working along side him… Kevin, i’m coming for your spot!

HOME & HOME 2010 TOUR.

The biggest tour of the summer was the co-headlining Eminem & Jay Z Home & Home Tour @ Comerica Park in Detroit and Yankee Stadium in New York. I had worked with Em & Jay on some promo shots for the tour and actually had no idea until I saw it but my photos we’re used for pretty much all the tour merchandise… Peep some designs.

REDBULL EMSEE.

I got the call to shoot some flicks at the Red Bull Emsee event at the legendary St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit. It was the last stop on a nation-wide hunt for the top MC and was judged by Alchemist, Denaun Porter & the man himself, Eminem. It was a sold-out crowd, even Bun B and Xzibit stopped by.

I was at Coachella with the A-Side crew and ran into PBW and 3 days later after recovering from 100 degree heat and who knows what else, I made my way down to Highland Park to link up with him at the Stones Throw offices… We kicked it for a few hours and shot a gang of flicks, and went to dinner with him and his wife. Both super cool people. I guess that’s obvious though, he DOES own probably the coolest record label ever.
